I co-authored Chapter 10 with historian Hassan Hafez, examining Cairo’s urban transformation between 1922 and 1952 through the Egyptian press. Drawing on newspapers and illustrated magazines, the chapter explores how journalism documented infrastructure, architecture, public services, inequality and debates over the future of the city.
